Planning Department

Newington's Town Planner duties include the review of applications for subdivision, lot line adjustment, and all land development and change-of-use outside of the residential zoning district. The Town Planner screens proposals, and then refers the applications to the Planning Board or the Zoning Board of Adjustment for further action if required.

In order to have an application placed on the Planning Board agenda, the Town Planner must receive a written request, along with the property owner's written concurrance and the applicable fee no later than the last Monday of the month. The Planning Board meets on the second Monday of the month.

In order to have an application placed on the Board of Adjustment's agenda, a completed application, the property owner's written concurance, and an application fee of $50 (payable to the Town of Newington) should be submitted to the Town Planner. A public hearing will then be scheduled approximately four weeks after receipt of the above referenced items.

The Town Planner's duties also include updates, as needed, to the town's Master Plan. Additionally, the Town Planner serves as Newington's specialist in matters pertaining to the 100-Year Floodplain.

John Krebs is the Town Planner and is available for appointments at the Town Hall Monday and Thursday 9:00-5.  Please call to set up an appointment, as office hours may vary because of night meetings. He may be contacted by phone at 603-436-7640 or by email at jkrebs@townofnewingtonnh.com.
