Newington's Commitment

The citizens of Newington long ago recognized that Newington's location is an important economic  asset to the town, state, and region.  Aggressive planning created a balanced plan for the Town’s development that maximizes the opportunities for commercial, industrial, and maritime uses to flourish in the Town’s business zones, largely east of the Spaulding Turnpike. The Town’s officials, including the Town’s Planning Board, have substantial experience and the requisite expertise to work with the proponents of major energy generation, maritime/industrial, and technology, office, and retail uses to ensure the optimal utilization of the business zones for mutual economic benefit.  The EDC partners with State and Local development organizations to insure that the assets of Newington are known to prospective businesses.  The Economic Development Committee monitors development and works hard to work with and show appreciation to our existing and future businesses.
