With its location and proximity to the Pease Tradeport, the Town’s zoning of areas for office and related uses provides attractive opportunities for companies seeking to relocate to the Seacoast.

EP NewingtonElectric Generation & Transmission:

Newington is one of New Hampshire's largest exporters of electricity.  Sprague Energy is one of the largest independent wholesale suppliers of energy and materials handling services in the Northeast.    Essential Power-Cogentrix Energy  is an industry-leading power generation organization. EP Newington is a 575 MW gas-fired combined cycle plant.  Granite Shore Power, with its diverse blend of fuel sources, provides electricity generation and sells capacity to the ISO New England wholesale electric market.  The Town's industrial district has room for more energy plants and has an abundant supply of natural gas and cooling water with proximity to the electrical transmission grid. Newington welcomes the opportunity to support further energy growth.

 

Maritime/Industrial:

Sprague FlyoverNewington’s extensive Piscataqua River waterfront with four operational marine terminals comprises a substantial portion of NH’s largest deep-water port, with riverfront land fully zoned to accommodate maritime and related industrial uses. Together the Sprague, GP Gypsum and the Sea 3 marine terminals have over 3M barrels of storage capacity for oil, gasoline, LNG, asphalt and associated capacity to handle other bulk cargo, including salt and gypsum. Other maritime dependent businesses are SubCom, Westinghouse Electric, and Little Bay Lobster.  Little Bay Lobster is the largest single harvester of lobsters in the world.  SubCom designs, manufactures, deploys and operates modern undersea data transmission lines on a global basis. Westinghouse manufactures nuclear components  including reactor vessel assemblies standing more than 30' tall and weighing 70 tons.

The CrossingsRetail:

Newington is home to two high profile mall. The Crossings is an open-air shopping experience with a wide variety of  shopping, dining and entertainment options.  Fox Run Mall  is a one-level enclosed regional shopping mall with over 50 tax-free shopping locations. Together, they boast one million square feet of mall space situated in the middle of the Seacoast region's retail market. It is the third largest retail market in the state. Additionally, a variety of retail, dining and automotive businesses are located in Newington to service the region.
