Eversource Transmission Line Great Bay Crossing

Residents have asked the Board of Selectmen to get involved with the Army Corps of Engineers assessment of the Eversource transmission line Great Bay crossing.

The Board’s legal counsel has informed them that this is not allowed due to the settlement reached between Newington and Eversource, whereby the Board agreed to not appeal the NH Site Evaluation Committee’s Order of Certificate and Site for the Seacoast Reliability Project in consideration for Eversource’s agreement to meet many conditions and requirements that benefit the Town.  As Eversourse’s permit application to the Army Corps of Engineers is related to its SEC application, the Town is bound by the terms and benefits of its settlement agreement with Eversource.
