Public School

The Newington School Board sponsored a Public Forum on June 6, 2006 to discuss the future of Newington's public school. The board subsequently issued a proclamation and voted unanimously "to refrain from going forward with any study focused on closing the Newington Public School."

The School Board's minutes are available on this website. For more information, contact the School Board.

Following the forum, the School Board asked SAU 50 to study the following:

Tuitioning students from outside communities into Newington Public School.

New and innovative ways to apply for grants, and corporate donations, for the Newington School District.

Continue to scrutinize expenditures on goods and services paid by the Newington taxpayer.

The study was completed in December 2006.
