The Fox Point Study Committee was established in 1996 in order to advise the Board of Selectmen as to the most appropriate measures to maintain and improve Town-owned land and buildings at Fox Point. The Town had purchased this 119 acre tract on Fox Point in 1980.

A map prepared in conjunction with the commmittee's work features historic sites, nesting areas, scenic vistas, and designated parking.

Committee members were appointed by the Selectmen. There were seven committee members, one of whom was a Selectman.
