Newington's Fire Department & Ambulance Service are headquartered at the corner of Nimble Hill Road and Fox Point Road. The Fire Department has ten full-time employees and six active call members. During the past year, the department responded to 212 calls. During the same period, the Ambulance responded to 267 calls.

The Fire Chief's powers and duties are spelled out by NH RSA 154. Departmental procedures, policies, and budgets are determined by a three-member Board of Fire Engineers.
